Blade Type
Blade Type

The Santoku knife, a classic in Japanese kitchens, translates to "three virtues," symbolizing its proficiency in slicing, dicing, and mincing. With a shorter, versatile blade and a balanced design, it's ideal for a range of tasks, from cutting meat to chopping vegetables, making it a beloved all-purpose tool.

Steel Type
Steel Type Read

Japanese SLD steel is a semi-stainless steel crafted through advanced metallurgy. It is used often in Sanjo knives, has a non-chippy edge and is extremely tough. This high-carbon steel, enriched with chromium and molybdenum, offers excellent performance, but be mindful not to leave it wet for extended periods.

Great Knife - Sharp and perfectly balanced

This knife is my first experience with a Japanese knife and I am not disappointed. The knife is as sharp as you can imagine and the tomato test was passed with ease. The only thing that I have seen with this knife is the handle. The wood has dulled, but after talking to support, they suggested bees wax, which has resolved this. The only other thing on the handle is the black material that solidifies the join between blade and handle. This has scratched slightly and easily but doesn't impact the knife, hence only knocking 1 star off. I will be buying more Tadafusa knives as I rate them highly.
